Terrebonne, Qc, Canada, December 1, 2020 – It is with pride that Automatex announces the realization of its automated machine to manufacture washable and reusable protective face masks! After a few months of development and production, the first automated FMPF-7725-3T-EA unit was delivered to a Quebec company to serve the population with personal protection equipment. Automatex is proud to have participated in the global fight against COVID-19 by having designed a new automated sewing unit for the manufacture of washable and reusable masks. Drawing on nearly 30 years of expertise in automation processes, the Automatex team has developed a solution that can produce up to 50 masks per minute. Comprising of sections that form the mask, cut, sew, insert binding with nasal strips and apply elastic as ear loops or edge-to-edge, this flexible unit produces varying sizes of masks, made from 1 to 3 plies of different types of woven and non-woven textiles. With the FMPF-7725-3T-EA unit, Automatex provides a tailor-made solution to meet the demand for masks during this global pandemic. Since the announcement of this new automated machine last April, interest has spread across several continents. « At Automatex, it is a real honor to have been able to contribute nearly 30 years of know-how to benefit public health.
