Germany's AMANN Launches Outdoor-Pro Product for Extreme Weather

AMANN, one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality sewing threads, embroidery threads and smart yarns, has recently launched a new product Outdoor-Pro - a sewing thread for most extreme weather. The bonded thread made from high-strength polyester continuous filament is equipped with an eco-friendly, PFC-free, water-repellent finish as standard.

Due to its bonding, Outdoor-Pro is excellently suited for multidirectional sewing and the processing of heavy, even coated, textile surfaces. The technological functionality of the seam is optimally maintained even under demanding weather conditions such as prolonged exposure to sunlight. The use of special dyes enables excellent resistance to UV radiation, making the brilliant colouring of Outdoor-Pro particularly durable.

This is confirmed by the results of the weathering test conducted by Hohenstein Laboratories. Outdoor-Pro was tested in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 12402-7 test standard, which includes artificial weathering in accordance with ISO 4892-1 and ISO 4892-2 as well as cold storage at -30° C. Different weather conditions such as sunlight, rain and fog as well as the change of day and night were simulated and their influence on various technological features as well as light fastness was determined, the company said in a press release.

Outdoor-Pro is perfectly suited for all outdoor applications, especially when a brilliant and durable colouring is desired in addition to the technological functionality.
